Royal Christening of Baby Archie

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex performed the christening of their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, today in the private Chapel at Windsor Castle in an intimate service. This was officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

The beautiful family were joined by Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Doria, and Princess Diana's two sisters: Lady Jane and Lady Sarah.

The released pictures were taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle by their trusted photographer Chris Allerton.

Archie is wearing the homemade replica of the gown Queen Victoria commisioned for her first-born child, Victoria, in 1841 made by the Queen's dressmaker. The original was worn by the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Harry but its now deemed too fragile to continue using. The replica gown was also worn by Prince William's children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louise.

Following the tradition of the royals, the Lily Font and Holy Water from the River Jordan was used.
