The 22-year-old Simone Biles made more history at U.S. Gymnastics Championships. She became the first person to land a double-double at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships on Friday and on Sunday, Biles became the first woman to land a triple double (two flips and three twists) in the competition by 4.95 points. Gymnast Simone Biles has confirmed not just once, but twice that she’s a national treasure with two historic performances at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championship, where she took home the all-around title for the sixth consecutive year. She is only the second woman in history to accomplish the feat, joining Clara Schroth Lomady’s record mark set 67 years ago. With her all-around title win at the U.S. Gymnastics Championship, Biles has won a grand total of 21 all-around titles in the span of the last six years.

Serena Williams was weeping from the sidelines after having to back out of a big match on Sunday. The Tennis icon was facing 19-year-old Canadian, Bianca Andreescu in Toronto for the 2019 Rogers Cup Finals. After the 4th rounds, She was forced to drop out from the competition due to back spasms she was experiencing. She was incredibly emotional  as she took a seat by the side netting and made a decision to withdraw. Bianca ran over to console her and shared some inspiring words. Bianca was then declared winner of the Rogers Cup. Serena later explained to the crowd that she couldn't tough it anymore on the tennis court and promised to keep going and competing despite having a tough year professionally.

Nigerian musician Tekno whose real name is Augustine Kelechi, apologized on Instagram for any offence he had caused. Reports claimed he was arrested after travelling through Lagos in a glass lorry with semi-naked women. A video was filmed from another car in a traffic jam which showed a man sitting in a glass-sided lorry throwing money at women dancing around a pole in their underwear. Initially it was seen as an immoral act by the woman who was taking the video and members of the general public. People saw it as an advert for strip club. Tekno shared on his page that he was behind the shoot. He denied accusations that it was an advert for any strip club. Instead he insisted that he was the one in the glass box on a truck travelling between locations while shooting a music video. Mexican drug lord Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman, popularly known as "El Chapo" was found guilty of running a murderous criminal enterprise and was convicted to a life sentence plus 30years in prison. He was forced to make a sudden departure to the highest-security prison in Colorado, U.S. to serve the term. A government helicopter whisked the notorious drug lord known for his daring jailbreaks, out of New York City on Wednesday after the sentencing in federal court in Brooklyn. The drug lord had been protected in Mexico by an army of gangsters who were part of the notorious Sinaloa cartel he founded in 1989. Under Guzman, the Sinloa cartel smuggled hundreds of thousands of tons of cocaine, heroin and marijuana to the US. Since 2017, Guzman, 62, has been extradited in the US to face drug-trafficking charges. He had been the subject of extreme security measures.
