Ex Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Westerhof Gets His House Promise After 25 Years

In 1994, a promise of a house was made to the Technical Adviser that led the Super Eagles of Nigeria to victory in the 1994 African Nations Cup competition.  The promise was not fulfilled until May 27th 2019. Same promise was made to Bonfere Jo for leading Super Eagles to their first Olympic Gold Medal in 1996 and wasn't honored until The Buhari Government in 2018 redeemed it after 24 years.

Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing had shared his thoughts about many unfulfilled promises made during moments of euphoria and elation which the Federal Government are tackling right now.


"It was the public announcement of the redemption of Bonfere Jo's house that brought to light the commitment to redeem that promise made to Westerhof because immediately we became aware, we set to work in the ministry. This is more than a house, it symbolises the commitment of the Buhari Administration to right yesterday's wrongs, redress yesterday's injustices and bring Nigerians together."


He also urged the Nigerian Football Federation to document all the promises made by the government.
